Travel the South: Mobile, AL

I might be a little biased since Mobile is my hometown, but I am in love with the rich Southern charm of the beautiful Port City! As it's been said, Mobile is perfectly situated between the woods and the water, making it the ideal home for sportsmen and outdoors lovers alike. Just a short drive from Mobile Bay, Dauphin Island, and Orange Beach, there is always somewhere to go to be by the water! That is definitely something that I miss living up near Birmingham. Not to mention, it is the birthplace of Mardi Gras and home of the Moonpie Drop on New Year's Eve!

I recently spent the weekend in Mobile, so I am sharing some of my favorite spots.
(I could go on forever!)

Things That Make Me Happy: Pepper Place!

Saturdays from April through December are my favorite days because that means Pepper Place! When we are in town, I love spending my Saturday morning at the Farmer's Market with the girls (and the hubs when I can talk him into going). I love the locally grown produce, flowers, and all of the goods from Alabama makers! I am sharing a few of my Pepper Place favorites with you today.

Big Spoon Creamery is actually the reason that I went to Pepper Place in the first place. I came across them on Instagram and saw a mint chip flavor that they were offering at Pepper Place soooo I had to go. And that is where the love affair began. Ever since then (over a year ago) I have been following Big Spoon all around! I am addicted to their ice cream sandwiches. They also do scoops and pints, so they have something for everyone. After you try their ice cream, don't be mad at me when you feel the constant urge to follow them all around the area; I gave you a fair warning that they are the bomb!

Travel the South: Lake Worth, FL and the Keys

We have really enjoyed the several trips that we have made to south Florida and I want to share some of our favorite spots with you!

1. Lake Worth, FL

Lake Worth is a quaint, quiet, eclectic little beach town in Palm Beach county. One of our favorite things to do is grab a slice of pizza at Mamma Mia's and then take a stroll down the Lake Worth Pier. The water is crystal clear and the view is just perfect. We also love exploring all of the shops downtown and grabbing some ice cream at Kilwin's or Hoffman's.

Travel the South: OBA

Among the million and one things that I love about my husband, our shared love of travel makes me oh so happy.  We are constantly on the go and we are always taking fun trips!  We are firm believers in the adage work hard, play hard.  We take full advantage of our weekends and are always headed out somewhere fab.  This past weekend, we went to Orange Beach, AL and had the best time! A quick 4 hour drive seems like nothing compared to the 8+ hour trip to North Carolina that we frequently make to see the older two kids!

Craft Corner: DIY Keyboard Glamification

When I was growing up, every time I saw something that I loved in a store, my mom would always say, "Oh, I can make that." It drove me C-R-A-Z-Y. BUT, lo and behold, I am now the same way!  I saw a beautiful floral keyboard cover at Forever 21 and guess what my first thought was?! YUP! I can make that!

This project is a little time consuming, but super easy!

You will need:
*Silhouette Cameo
*Printable Vinyl
*Floral Design
*A Printer
*Template/Photo of Your Keyboard

Things That Make Me Happy: Coffee Mugs!

All of the credit for my mug collection should really go to my husband.  It is quite ironic considering that he isn't the biggest fan of my collecting. :) It all started when he took a trip to Seattle a few years ago and brought me back a mug. Now, every trip we take, every store I walk into, or every online store that I shop, I have my eyes peeled for a new mug! I LOVE them! I am a coffee addict and I wake up looking forward to my morning cup of Joe.  So why not make sure that mug is cute!?  There is no such thing as too many mugs.

Craft Corner: Easy as H-T-V

Heat transfer vinyl is one of my favorite medias to use.  You can put it on so many things! If you're like me, you look at every object as an opportunity to add vinyl.  I picked up a $3 heart tote in the Target dollar spot and couldn't wait to get it home to add words.

For this project, you will need:

*a canvas tote
*heat transfer vinyl (I used black glitter)
* an iron or heat press
* design of your choice
*parchment paper

Craft Corner: Personalized Notecards

I am obsessed with anything personalized and especially anything with a monogram on it.  From a young age, I was taught the importance of handwritten thank you notes.  It is safe to say that there is always a box full of personalized notecards tucked away somewhere for that exact purpose.  Every year, I order a new box of notecards, but now I can make my own!  And the possibilities here are not only endless....but WAY cheaper than buying them.

For the notecards you will need:
*white cardstock (or any color you choose)
*creativity
